How Property Managers Can Prepare a Suite for the Next Tenant
A practical turnover sequence between tenancies, and the details that make a cleaning quote accurate the first time.
Sequence the trades, then clean
Cleaning belongs at the end. Painting, patching, flooring and repairs all generate dust, so a clean booked before those finish usually has to be repeated. Schedule the final clean after the last trade leaves and before the new tenant's walkthrough.
Turnover clean scope
- Full kitchen including cabinet and drawer interiors
- Full bathrooms including fixtures and glass
- Closets, shelving and storage
- Baseboards, frames, switches and handles
- Floors throughout, cleaned last
Send these details with the request
- Unit size, bedroom and bathroom count
- Whether the suite is vacant
- Access method: lockbox, concierge, on-site meeting
- Parking, loading bay or elevator booking rules
- Your required completion date and time
For repeat turnovers
If you manage several units, a standing scope agreed once keeps every later turnover consistent and quick to book. Send your typical unit types and turnover volume with your first request.
